GLACIER SAMAR is one of Glacier’s 2 newest logistical cold storage facility. It was completed and commissioned in 2019. GSamar is located in the newly developed main highway of Calbayog. It is the first cold storage ever to rise in Eastern Visayas and was built in aid of agricultural enterprises and fish processors in the long-depressed but potentially rich region of the country. The initial plant’s capacity of 519 palleted racks and shelves sits on an area with ample space for future expansion.

The facility’s stocking array and refrigeration system is designed to handle a wide range and variety of products from dairy, meat, aquamarine, finished and processed goods. Part of the facility supports food distributors that require a reliable cold chain infrastructure to reach and expand potential markets in the province particularly a growing economy in the nearby cities and municipalities in and around Catbalogan and Catarman. The facility supports the Calbayog local government’s “Balik Probinsiya“ program and spurs the establishment and growth of self-sustaining livelihood within the area’s communal rural resettlement setting.
